As you all know or may see from the title of my blog, I'm a proud shoealcholic. I have hundreds of shoes: peeptoes, pumps, sandals, boots.. Black, yellow, pink, white, green, red. Every kind that you can imagine. Lately I go crazy about platforms and watching the new spring collections of platforms I made my Christmas wishlist for Santa :)
We see them on Bollywood, we read about them in magazines, we hear about them on TV... They represent the modern and the traditional side of the Indian women.
That women is always fashionable, always elegant, always special thanks to them- THE SARIS.
Sari is a strip of unstitched cloth, ranging from four to nine metres in length that is draped over the body in various styles, made by silk. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff.
One thing that always amazes me in the sari is that it's always with particular patterns and unique colours that nobody believed that when you put them together will make such a unique piece.
The shalwar kameez is the most popular traditional dress for females. Shalwars are the loose pants and kameez is the loose shirt. Women complete the look by putting on a scarf called dupatta that covers the head.
Despite of being so gorgeous and glamorous, Indian women have shown that they are also really talented dancers, singers and fashion designers. It takes a talent to put together so many pieces and make that perfect elegant look. And the bindi is the perfect accessory. I admire them for being so unique, special and beautiful.
I wish you a great Tuesday evening with this Indian cupcake accompanied with a good "Indian" song.
Third and last day a Madrid. The least interesting day of our vacation :(
Breakfast at Starbucks, visit to the Royal Palace and the Temple of Debod, shopping, dinner, packing, sleeping...After all the adventures we had the previous two days we didn't care..
One thing I learned in this trip is that the people who are really worth will always be part of your life no matter what. Both me and S. weren't in the partying mood due to some unpleasant events that had took place lately but we had each other and that made us grow stronger and wiser in 3 days:). Not because we've solved the mysterie of the complicated world of men, it was because we've realized there's no mystery at all. Nothing to be solved. Men are men and can't be changed. We don't need to accept their flaws and adjust, we need to find a person that has the right flaws.
Obviously as we landed on the ground of Bologna airport, the problems didn't fade, they were still here. But everything seemed easier coz with a true friend you can always think about them less and feel happy that you have that special person that cares about you so much to distract you and make you laugh even when you don't feel like laughing.
As Carrie says: No matter who broke your heart or how long it takes to heal you'll never get through it without your friends.
The day started with sweets. Me and S. went to Starbucks for breakfast. Hot chocolate, cheesecake and muffin so many calories but such a pleasure.Afterwards shopping :). I still wont reveal all the things I bought. I keep the best for last.
But you can try guessing by the photo with all the bags :)
After doing at least 5 km of shops we went to Parque de Retiro. One of the most beautiful parks in Madrid with a lovely lake and all the nice sculptures. Really similar to Versailles though but still special.
Then Puerta de AlcalĂ . Why????
As you know there were EMA's in Madrid last Sunday. So there's was this great concert in Puerta de AlcalĂ with the performance of 30 seconds to Mars, Katy Perry and Linkin' Park. I'm big fan of Katy Perry so I was really excited to see her performance: I kissed a girl, Firework, Teenage Dream, Hot and Cold, California Gurls and Peacock... We've made so many videos that I'll upload one of these days.
I also heard the performance of 30 seconds to Mars- nice but not my genre :) After Katy Perry we went to eat since it was cold and there was too much crowd and Linkin' Park were interesting maybe when we were 13:)
After searching for 2 hours a bar that we've heard about but not sure if it exists we found a cute bar with great tapas and all the Spanish specialities. With a smiley face and a full stomach we went home to sleep preparing for our last day and the biggest attack of the shops.
Coming up next on the SexyShoe: Day 3 and all the purchases.
